What you need

A clean covered jar with room for coffee and water, a strainer, a paper filter or clean coffee filter cloth, and a refrigerator.

Make a batch

  1. Add 60 g of coarsely ground coffee and 600 g of cool drinking water to your jar.
  2. Stir until all the grounds are wet. Cover and refrigerate for 12–16 hours.
  3. Strain out the grounds, then filter again if you want less sediment.
  4. Serve over ice. Taste, then add water or milk if it is stronger than you like.
  5. Keep filtered coffee covered in the fridge. Make small batches you will use promptly.

Find your balance

Try a medium roast with chocolate or nut tasting notes. Keep the same beans while adjusting dilution.
